Chapter 6
By: Ella Richards
In chapter 6 of, Are You Fully Charged? by Tom Rath he talks about how you should stay true to yourself and follow your own footsteps. He says, "Even in the worst situations, you can find opportunities for growth" (Rath). This statement really sticks out to me, because I can relate to it on a personal level. For example, when I do poorly on a test or exam I am upset about it for the first few hours. But with this I also find myself hoping for growth. I know for next time I need to study just a little bit longer and try and really focus on doing good.
This chapter made me really look at how I can create meaning in my life, by just following my dreams. I need to focus on what I want to do in life and what makes me happy. Although making my parents happy is always a plus, I need to do what I think is the right choice for me. I should be following in my own footsteps. The same thing should be happening in society as well. I know that a lot of people choose an area of study or a job because that is what their parents did or want them to do. I believe that people should have a choice of what they do. It is their life, and they should be happy.
Overall, this chapter has taught me that I can create meaning in my life, by doing what I think is right and following my dreams. Basically, being true to myself!
